TRX4 LiPo Suitability Hoping for some input from those in the know.. I just received a couple of these GensAce LiPo's : https://www.gensace.de/gens-ace-5500...se-lipo29.html I was expecting to receive 2S1P, 5000mAh, 50C softpacks however seems I was sent something quite different (2S2P, 5500mAh, 100C, hardpack) Before I send these back from whence they came, any view of what will happen if I run these in my (reasonably stock) TRX4? Will I and my electronics go up in smoke (I'm running a castle 2.0 BEC and Savox SW-1210SG)? Is this a bad idea? I don't know what the implications are of running either such a high C rating nor what having two cells in series and 2 in parallel will do in the TRX. Any input appreciated. |
Re: TRX4 LiPo Suitability They will work just the same. An ESC can only pull as much current as it can. I don't like the idea of parallel cells, but Gensace's should be fine. |
Re: TRX4 LiPo Suitability Lets make this simple... Mah = the size of your gas tank C rating = How much horsepower the batteries can support multiplied by the Mah or gas tank. 2p= two gastanks linked 2cells= horsepower The motor is drawing the power. It is what is doing the work, transfering electricity into motion. The Esc only controls the speed of that motor by pulsing full power at different rates. So in other words. No problems running a high C battery. |

Yup, those packs will be fine. |
Re: TRX4 LiPo Suitability 100% those packs will be fine. They're still putting out 2S voltage, they just have more capacity to do so at a higher discharge rate. As was already mentioned, batteries don't push Amps, esc's pull them and they'll only pull what they need. |
Re: TRX4 LiPo Suitability C rating = in your scenero the c rating would be the speed of a fuel pump 2p = this would be a second fuel pump. |
Re: TRX4 LiPo Suitability Thanks all for the input - very informative. I'm going to stick with these packs and will be testing them out over the weekend. Much appreciated. |
