Default Severe gogging

Mamba X with 1406-2280 slate in a TRX4 Defender. This truck has been running flawlessly for nearly two years in this configuration on both 2s and 3s. Slow crawling only, no bashing, no water or mud ever. This thing is babied like you would not believe. Was out driving it on my rock garden a few days ago and out of the blue it just started gogging. I have never experienced gogging before so I have no idea how to trouble shoot this. I have seen many references to the sensor harness so I removed it and reinstalled it with no difference. Is it possible that the sensor harness has gone bad or do I need to look elsewhere? Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah that sounds like a bad sensor wire, they're kinda fragile. Last time I had one go bad I stocked up and bought a few extra.

Oh and its cogging

yank out the sensor wire and see how it does. If it smooths out sensorless, you probably have a bad harness or sensor wire. Small chance it could be a sensor that went out.

Thanks guys, I will update once I try it without the sensor harness. JRH, which sensor wire do I need? I see several listed on your site.

The mamba X uses a special plug at the ESC but you can use any sensor wire since they provide an adapter to use a normal sensor wire. Or if you prefer less connections to worry about go with the Mamba X sensor wire that Holmes makes, they offer a 5 1/2" and 10 1/2" sensor wire.

Mamba X adapter (that castle provides, already plugged in)

10 1/2" sensor wire for the Mamba X

This confused me a bit the first time I did it but removing the sensor wire adapter from the Mamba X (so you can plug in the HH wire) requires you to find and push in the retaining tab that holds this adapter in place, its molded into the ESC casing.

So the HH sensor wire will allow me to eliminate the connector in the middle. The thing that confuses me is that those HH sensor wires are listed for use with the M Micro X and M Monster X so I'm unclear if it works with the Mamba X.

It will work. All 3 use the same harness.

Only the Micro X and Monster X have the retaining tab. The Mamba X actually has a plastic retainer that is screwed down to the case. You will need a 1.5mm hex driver to remove it.
