New Holmes motors? Sorry if this has already been asked but I saw a post somewhere saying Holmes was releasing some new budget friendly motors soon. Can't find anymore info on it though from where I have looked and as nowhere seems to have stock of TrailMasters, does anyone know if they're coming out soon? |

Re: New Holmes motors? I don't believe he has posted any sort of ETA only that he "John Robert Holmes I started the process for 5 slot sealed cans a fee (few) months back. Already on it!" This was on his facebook fan page. It's hard to have a eta when other people are involved. and some time no eta is better then the wrong one. |
Re: New Holmes motors? Why 5 slots, is it better? More torque softer lower consumption?:rodar: |

Re: New Holmes motors? Then, for example, Holmes incorporates 5 slots only to the motors with less turns, in a range that goes from 11t to 20t, Holmes gives 5 slots to soften them? |

IE 16T 5 slot would be very comparable to a 35t 3 slot. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk |

Re: New Holmes motors? So far I have changed the engines of my cars to more t, 45t 55t, looking for more touch and softness, grip, because the 27t of my Axial scx10 and others like goolrc for example were quite fast and stopped working with the heat, especially making repetitions when wanting to climb impossible sites, now I use in one of my cars a 45t TorqueMaster 3 slots, until today I did not know, I think with a pinion of 11 points, and that the other day in competition was quite heated with 3s but endured as a champion. |
Re: New Holmes motors? Gearing down on a faster motor is better and cheaper then a slower motor on stock gears IMO. I usualy run a 9t 48p pinion and a 96t 48p spur on a 21t 550 motor on 3s in an scx10 2 and its pretty dang slow with tons of torque and smoothness. You might prefer something like 11t 48p on an 80t 48p spur though. The only time I ever damaged a 48p gear was when I was punching it on a 6s 2200kv motor. Wheelies are cool but it was just for funzies not something I would usualy drive. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
