13t/16t vs 27t/35t motors

how is it distinguished the number of turns for motors and gearing? HH has a 13 and 16 t motor vs. a axial 27t/35t?

Re: 13t/16t vs 27t/35t motors

So to start there's a big difference in these numbers because of the Holmes Hobbies (13 and 16T) motors having 5 slots/stators while the most all other motors have 3 slots/stators. So If you're trying to compare motor speeds in terms of turns you have to understand that a 13T is closer to a 27-30T motor.

I think its actually a bit more straight forward to think of them in terms of KV (compared to turns) even though they're brushed motors and Holmes has a nice little chart plotting the KV of their various motors.

Keep in mind the Crawlmaster is a 5 slot and a Torquemaster is 3 slot. Oh and I love 5 slot motors they are very smooth at low speeds and have a great start up (smooth and not jerky)
