Traxxas 8028

Hey guys,

I'm trying to find an affordable solution to power some led's and i ordered a traxxas 8028 power supply.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if i can power it directly off the receiver by plugging the JST plug into a channel instead of connecting it directly to an esc (to its battery) ?

It will run 6-12v to my knowledge. So you probably could get away with it, but it's better if you run it directly to the battery to prevent potential brown outs.
