Venom or Hitec charger? So I've narrowed my search to these two chargers. Basically in the same price range. This will be my first Lipo charger and currently only used for my TRX-4. I want to stick with dual charging since that seems nice to have, but maybe I don't need it - I dunno? Which should I pick and is there another option I'm missing? Thanks! Re: Venom or Hitec charger? I love my Hitecs. I have an X2 Pro and an X4 Pro. I haven't used any other charger in the last decade, so I can't really comment on the Venom, but as far as being solid, can't go wrong with Hitec. Top notch customer service too. |
Re: Venom or Hitec charger? I've also had a few Hitec chargers and I have no complaints, easy to use and reliable. They all still work I just ended up upgrading along the way. As for dual charging its a nice feature if you have multiple packs you want to charge quickly though it might not be totally necessary especially seeing how you only have 1 rig right now. I'm using the Hitec X2 AC plus and its been great (same model as you linked). Sorry I have no experience with Venom either. |
Re: Venom or Hitec charger? Thanks for the input! Now I'm leaning towards a single channel charger, maybe save a few $$. Hitec RDX1 Pro Single Channel AC/DC Charger (6S/10A/100W) https://www.amainhobbies.com/hitec-r...c44246/p682456 |

Re: Venom or Hitec charger? Ive got 2 hitec x1 chargers (got a deal on them) n love them. Easy to use, just wish i had the x4. I charge a few batts for every time i go out on a run. Like mentioned above, i run smaller packs to save weight. At the moment im runnin ovanic 3000mah 50c packs n get anywhere from 45 min to alot of times well over an hr. Id go for the x2 atleast, esspecially if youre lookin to get more rigs in the future Sent from my SM-J327VPP using Tapatalk |
Re: Venom or Hitec charger? Love my dual Hitec. Still have a single, but rarely use it Hang up and Drive |
Re: Venom or Hitec charger? I've never been disappointed by my Hitec chargers, but got a Protek from Hobbytown recently. Set up similar, and a great charger also. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk |
Re: Venom or Hitec charger? If you go with the dual, here's a rebranded Hitec that's the exact same thing for $15 less: https://www.rcjuice.com/chargers-acc...e-charger.html |
Re: Venom or Hitec charger? Have you considered the new Onyx dual charger? It's similar in specs, and $85. I've been eyeing it myself. https://www.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLDYD&P=ML |

Re: Venom or Hitec charger? I have been running the Venom Duo pro for 5 years now... No problems. |
Re: Venom or Hitec charger? I've got an x1 as well, but just bought a traxxas 3s lipo and noticed it has built in balance leads, anyone know if that makes it unsafe to charge on a hitec or anything other than the traxxas chargers? |

Re: Venom or Hitec charger? The Hitec brand is the way to go. They are very robust units that should last a long time with the added benefit of not burning down your house. :) |

That's really funny right there. It's actually the opposite, Hitec is the re-branded and Skyrc is the manufacturer: https://www.skyrc.com/about https://www.skyrc.com/Charger I would pay the extra money and get the Hitec because even though they don't make the chargers, they support their re branded brand excellently!!! I have 2 of them and love them. Hitec has Skyrc adjust a few things to meet their specs and brands it. Even the startup says Hitec in the electronics. "thumbsup" |
