A guy we run with has one. Super small motor. The noise is strange but not really a problem.

A handful of fellas out here run them and like them a lot. They seem to do well, a little quieter than the previous version of the revolver. I haven’t heard the new revolver in person yet but hope to have one for myself soon.

I had one, didn't like it. Not nearly as powerful in my opinion. It was quieter however. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk |

| Re: Anyone thinking about running this, Yellowjacket?? Well, the volume of an outrunner is related to how much active material is in the can. A stubby Revolver is half the noise of a full size Revolver but half the power. If a Yellowjacket is quieter than a stubby Revolver, then it isn't surprising they are down on power as well.

| Re: Anyone thinking about running this, Yellowjacket?? I can confirm. All the changes I made were to the housing. Same power and magnetics. Now it's lighter than competing options, at a lower price. And the next batch will be even smaller in overall length, with some refinements made to smooth out startup even more |

I've gone round the horn on the noise out of my HH 1800kv Revolver. When I first put it in one of my rigs, the spaceship like noises cracked me up. Then, on longer crawl and trail sessions, it became a bit annoying. Now it's in the TRX and I scarcely even notice it any more. Even if I did, the performance I'm getting out of it in the TRX with a Castle Mamba would outweigh any peeves I'd have about the noise. It's just dialed!

I have never tried an out runner. Between Holmes videos and the banter on here, the SW4 and HH outrunner is on my shopping list. Given that John is clearly putting his time into it I am only that much more interested. I get that the start up on these is remarkable in comparison to any motor, be them sensored or not. At 1800kv-2000kv, what sort of top end is coming out of them? Dude in the video is running his outrunner in water. Seems naturally counter intuitive. Yeah they are brushless, but how dirty can we get these things? |

The 3BRC website says the motors are not for bashing or mudding, or letting debris enter the motor, yet the video shows it runnng in mud.... confused |

I can't stand (and won't run) noisy motors/electronics especially when out crawling, just disruptive and kills the peaceful atmosphere. I've seen and driven BL setups with Mamba ESC and they were adjusted the PWM modulation so that it was quiet and powerful, iirc it was with CC Slate motor. |

That is because its a small motor. And it is not for bashing. They are for more competition crawling. I posted the video of the mud bog and explained how you need to clean it afterwords because videos were starting to pop up of people taking them through the bad elements. I didn't mean to be confusing. Fact is they will handle the bogs and elements. But I leave that little warning there to help distract people from buying them for bashing purposes. | |

Don't confuse Yellow Jackets and Revolvers. Both are outrunners but different makers. As far as noise? Different ESC can change the noise. Even going from 3s to 4s changed the noise for me, mostly when you punch it though. I think there is an ESC on the market or at least heading that way that will reduce the noise or maybe eliminate it. I like the noise of my ooutrunners, the noise let me know what the motor is about to do. |
