New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! 1 Attachment(s) Looking for a motor that doesn't break the bank, but doesnt skimp on quality and smoothness either? I made the new Crawlmaster Sport motors just for you! Smooth starting 5 slot just like our other 3 models of Crawlmaster , but built into a sealed can! Combined with higher quality magnets than your typical sealed can, specific brush compound, and a ball bearing on the output, these motors deliver an incredible value, longevity, and driving feel for the price! Find them at holmeshobbies.com, or at your favorite online retailer or local hobby shop. We dont require minimum orders for brick and mortar shops, so if your LHS doesnt carry our products it is easy to become a dealer and offer industry leading motors! I've been crawling for 17 years and put the experience into all 20+ types of crawling motor we make! |

Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! They look good. I would have tried one in my Capra if these were released a few days prior. |

Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! Is the 12t close to a 35t? Can't decide what to get for a stock TF2 with the 2-speed. Any suggestions? |

Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! The 12t is a little faster, about 1700kv. I'll be sure the chart is correct. I have equivalent kv values on the product pages too. |

Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! I received a 12t Crawlmaster Sport 550 today and threw it in my neighbors Wraith. It is noticeably smoother than his 35t sealed can 540, or the 21t and 27t 550 Trailmaster Sports I have in other cars, all running 3s from Hobbywing WP1080's. With no changes in ESC programming, it does seem less "punchy" which isn't bothersome, but the reduction in drag brake power was more significant than I anticipated. There was no discernible difference in speed from the 35t 3 slot 540 to the 12t 5 slot 550. Overall I like it and feel like the low speed improvement was worth more than the $20 I paid for the motor. I am gonna have to figure out a way to get more drag brake though. I'm hoping there's still something to be gained in the ESC (he did say he'd been messing with the programmer) otherwise I guess even lower gearing/ underdriving the rear will be the next step. How do you feel about running 4s on the 12t 550? I only ask because I was thinking if I can gear the car down 25% or more it should make the drag brake hold better (right?) and I could gain the lost top-end back by running 4s (obviously with a different ESC.) |

I believe the motor is supposed to be good to at least 4s. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk |
Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! Oh I get that, I run 65:1 with an 1800kv Revolver on 4s (switched from a Micro X to a standard Mamba X tonight, just for that reason) and it's just right to me. I also had a couple other brand cheap 16t 540 5 slots that I ran on 4s, but I sold the car before really feeling out how well they'd get along with the higher voltage. I don't expect them to spontaneously combust or anything (the Trailmaster Sport 27t 550 didn't seem to mind 4s, but the tall geared Titan 12t lit on fire with the quickness!) just curious what JRH's opinion was there. |
Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! Gearing down and using 4s wont be a problem. The reduction in drag and torque is the tradeoff to gain smoothness with any motor. Thanks for the review! |
Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! Any word on when AMain will have these in stock? |
Re: New Crawlmaster Sport 540 and 550 motors! I asked the support earlier this week. This is the answer: "Thank you for reaching out. I do not currently have a release ETA as they do not show it available for us to order yet. I do apologize. If you need anything else let us know! have a great day! " I am also waiting impatiently ;-) |
