Default Weird Mamba 25 problem??????

I have been running my Mamba 25 and DX3 with no problems, added a MPI voltage regulator set up like this MPI servo regulator install and have run it with no problems. I deceided to swap over from sub-C to 2/3A, do away with the voltage regulator and add a reciever pack to run the servos.

I can not get this system to work with the reciever pack I can switch back to the voltage regulator and it works fine. At first I thought it was because the reciever pack powered up the reciever first, but I can power the reciever first with the voltage regulator then plug the esc to the battery and it works fine. I have tried different reciever packs and it does the same thing...nothing just a flashing red light on the Mamba. I have the BEC disabled on the Mamba. I don't understand why getting 6 volts from a reciever pack is different form getting 6 volts from the voltage regulator.

HELP!!!

You have the BEC disabled? Such as the red wire being cut? Make sure you turn on the mamba. Sounds like you just have the switch in the off position.

I do. It works fine with the voltage regulator but not the reciever packs. That is the only difference. It works with the switch off with the votalge regulator. I tried truning the switch on with the reciever pack. All the lights light up but it won't program. It's strange, unplug the reciever pack and plug the VR back in and it's fine. Doesn't need to be programed, working fine. I thought it might be the new reciever pack but I tried others same problem.

Do your servos work when you plug in the RX pack?

From my understanding, the red wire needs to be plugged in to program the esc.

Turn on the esc switch if you have not done so.

When I turn the switch on all three light light up and it beeps once like it wants to program, but it won't. Like it doesn't reconize the reciever. With the voltage regulator it works with the switch in the on and off position, is that normal? This whole problem is just weird.

Something isnt consistent with how you have your RX pack vs the voltage reg. If the red wire is unplugged from the m25 servo wire, you will need to have the switch turned on for it to work. If the red wire is still in the rx plug, you can use the RX pack or voltage reg to power the esc.

If it doesnt recognize the receiver, that is a whole nuther issue! Try reversing your throttle channel, or reprogramming the esc's throttle endpoints.

Does the red wire have to be cut? Does it hurt the esc to run a RX pack or VR with out disabling the bec on the esc?

Remove the red wire and use the ESC switch... that'll start the ESC up with an RX pack... But if you want to program, you need to put the red wire back on and not use the RX pack... Cutting is an option until you need to re-program.... Just lift the tab that holds the plug into the ESC end and pull the wire out... There ya go... Ready to use with an RX pack and still able to be programmed when ya need or put the red wire back in when the RX pack dies...

Problem fixed!!!

I hadn't cut the wire on the esc I had used an extention and cut the wire on it. For some stupid reason I cut the black wire instead of the red wire. Fixed that and now it works fine with both the RX pack and voltage regulator. I still wonder why it worked with the voltage regulator and not the RX pack, since both were giving the reciever 6 volts. Oh well it work now.
