Default Brushed motor, can question

When looking at 540 size 35t brushed motors there seems to be 2 types. Full can and brushes/springs exposed.
Other than being able to maintain easier is there a performance gain? the exposed motors seem to be /look better quality regards of the brand.

What you are looking at are rebuildable and sealed can motors.

As was said, the motors with the exposed parts are rebuildable and also more susceptible to the elements.
