Default LiPo`s Hard case or normal?

I have got to the stage where I need to buy LiPo`s for my 1/10th yeti.
I know I can run what I want BUT what is the preferred hard case OR normal packs? I realise cars will take more abuse than aircraft but the cells are well strapped down and protected.
Can I have some feed back on experience please, being a newb this will help.thanks

I generally prefer hardcase lipos for my bashers, but it just so happens that the only 3S packs that fit my Yeti are soft case, and to be honest, I don't think the Yeti needs a hard case. The battery is really well protected in the Yeti, so as long as you have one that fits snug and doesn't bounce around in the battery cage, I think a soft pack is fine. BUT, if it's not a tight fit, then definitely go with a hard pack.

I do hard packs for bashers and go-fast rigs. Is it necessary? Traxxas doesn't think so. I say that because they only sell soft case LiPos and their customers are as noob as they get.

I like the venom 3s hardcase for my bomber.
It's safer and a perfect fit.

You should find some that fit the yeti

I personally like the soft packs. They take up less space and weigh less. I've been running soft pack Lipos for over a decade without any issues.

This battery I pushed a little to hard on the edge of a g10 chassis, didn't seem like a great deal of force but it's a cheapo. Basicaly as thick as an antistatic bag.

The quality ones have better cases. But it's a possibility.
