Lets hope! I didn’t see anything in the article about maximum charge cycles, I know in the li-co2 batteries a group had been working on that was it’s major fall back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Pretty interesting, but I will never own drive a full size electric car. Now for my RC needs ... bring it on pep |

Like the fabled, water-powered, internal combustion engine, there have been many, many failed promises of electric power over the years. I take the "I'll believe it when I see it" approach.

Can not disagree with that, maybe we will see the perpetual motion machine next pep |

My dad and a couple friends made a perpetual motion bike. I was the only one small enough that it worked with so I road it through the parade. The next year we made a trike that had like a 15 ft x6" pvc that they filled with water and it would propel like a block at time when you popped the "throttle" lol. Good memories, glad you brought that up

That video would be more interesting if there were actually some hard details in it. I read an article a month or two ago about John B. Goodenough working on a new battery technology that promises at least 5 times the energy dencity comparted to current lithium chemistry, and rapid charging. Wonder if this is the project he is working on? |

Him and about 10,000 other people or companies have been working on "ground breaking" batteries. I'm still waiting for that car-sized battery, as light as a feather, that can charge in 30 seconds, and still power a car around the world once without needing another recharge.

If there was anyone I would believe could develop a better battery, it would be John B. Goodenough, this is the guy that invented lithium batteries in the first place and random access memory...

Building a better mouse trap keeps the world going round. Certain "invention wars" will never end. Technology is a huge one. Cars, planes, computers and in this case battery's. Lets hope it is an improvement that will benefit our little niche of the hobby world.

While there have been many announcements on the battery front very few have the business and financial backing of these two. Somebody IS going to do it, could just be one of these. Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk

Same. He has never made claims that didnt pan out, literally the godfather of modern batteries. If he says 5x density increase, that's what they will do. Theres been a LOT of battery vaporware and claims to gain funding, but never from his lab.
