I would guess it would be around 380-390 on 2s but I could be wrong.
You will want to wait for the V3 of the HV500, that is the one that will give you similar specs when run on 6-8.4V.

It should be fine if the Chinese actually continue to build it to Johns specs.

Nice! You'll have to shoot us some run video of it in your rig!

What are the differences between the v2 and v3? The specs look the same to me? Different gear material? Increased gear/pin sizes? Better electronics?

I believe the electronics are the same but the gears are thicker (particularly the middle and bottom gears), both pins are larger, there are bushing inserts for both gear pins in the upper case, and the hardware is now stainless with o-rings on all screws.

looks beefy!

The issue I had with the V2's was bending the pins and they look a to be a lot larger.

As a guy currently running 3 rigs with V2's, I was faced with the dilemma of wanting a V3 but not needing it. So I've come to the only logical conclusion... time to buy another rig!

I like your thinking! I'd do the same but my wife wouldn't understand the logic.

So how do you connect this to your battery? Plug it into the balance plug?

Add an extra lead (with a JST plug on the end) coming off the ESC battery leads.

This ESC has terminals that I was able to solder to but if yours doesn't you'd solder this lead on to the plug end.

Apparently the V3 was very conservatively rated at the same specs as the V2 but I guess actual measurements were done and they are a tad higher than originally thought (like 130-160 oz more).

Torque @ 11.1v: 32.4 kg/cm (580 oz/inch)
Speed @ 11.1v: 0.10 sec
Torque @ 14v: 37.5 kg/cm (680 oz/inch)
Speed @ 14v: 0.08 sec

The website has been updated with the new specs.

NICE!!! I emailed John the other day about doing a run/test video on the new servo. He said as soon as the weather there gets decent he'd get one posted. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these. I'm so over the budget servo blues.
