This servo is specifically made to be powered straight from a 3 or 4S battery to eliminate the need for a BEC. If you want something to just plug into the receiver and run on 6-8V, then this isn't the servo for you.

these guys should buy the HV500, have it in my TRex it's a beast on 3S, but it's designed for 2S

Define most guys? Everyone by me runs 3S with a few using 4S. The only ones I see running 2S are new to the hobby folks who wouldn't spend $119 on this servo anyways.

As for me I only use 2s. I would gladly spend the money on one. Would rather support the local guy versus back alley Hong Kong special. The description lists 2s to 4s. If it wasn’t meant to run 2s then don’t list it as such. Will that stop me from picking up one probably not. Just need to figure out how much the torque drop is. I would guess it would be around 380-390 on 2s but I could be wrong.
