| RX pack & ESC, remove the red wire or leave the ESC switch off
Which do you do? Does it matter? (This also applies if you are running power to the RX from your main battery, with or without a regulator.) Last edited by BenW; 02-23-2005 at 03:37 PM. |

If you run 7.2V to the RX then I say cut the wire so that you do not feed that into the BEC, I dont know if it will hurt anything but I would just to be safe. Of course, if I was running my servos off 7.2V I wouldn't feed the power to the RX, I'd wire the power direct to the servos and leave the ESC switch on. If yer running a RX battery pack or a voltage reg. that is 6V or less then I say feed it to the RX and leave the switch on. I assume you are talking about a super rooster. |

I'm running an EVX at the moment but the question is more in general terms. Feeding power to the RX from the EVX AND the RX pack at the same time won't hurt anything? |

If they are the same voltage (or close to the same) then no. Say if the RX battery is 6V and the BEC is 6V then the RX and servos will still see 6V. I always left power on so that the servos could pull current from either source, the battery or the ESC. I know that this werks fine on Roosters and Super Roosters but I have never used an EVX so I can not say for sure about that. I dont know what the BEC voltage is. |

EVX provides 1.5A @ 5.0V Rooster is .5A @ 5.7V |

Again, for a 7.2V system to the servos I would wire the servo power direct and not have it go through the receiver. With the Rooster being 5.7V I have never had a problem running my 6V RX battery into the RX with the switch on. Super Rooster = 3A @ 6.0V Oh yeah.... | |
