SY60 Power Connectors

I just received some SY60 connectors. These are more compact and lighter than the XT60 connectors many of us use and are backward compatible. The XT60 come in at 7.47g with the covers while the SY60 pair are 4.85g. Not much of a weight saving but every little bit helps.

On thing is that you have to use the covers on these new connectors as the female side has almost nothing to grab hold of without them. I had a bit of trouble getting them apart but don't want to attach the covers until I solder them as it looks like the covers on the SY60 attach more firmly than the XT60 covers and may be difficult to remove.

The shorter pins obviously won't be able to carry as much current as the longer XT60 but they are likely under-rated as I had a motor go up in smoke and the data from the Mamba Monster X showed over 120 amps being drawn when it happened. The motor and wires were too hot to touch but the XT60 connector was still barely warm.

In any case the normal amp draw of a crawler shouldn't be a problem for these connectors while the pins are still big enough to solder 10awg battery leads, unlike the smaller XT30 connectors.

XT60 is still king, nothing to see here.
You can always go to XT90 of you need more current passing through.
