| Saying goodbye to my DX3R transmitter. Now what?
My old faithful Spektrum DX3R is finally failing. Its time to buy a modern radio system. My initial idea was to buy a new Spektrum radio so it would work with all old receivers. Looking at their website it looks like they all use a newer DSMR protocol. What radio should I switch to? If I have to switch all my receivers out receiver cost will be important. |

I graduated to a DX5R and DX5C from my trusty DX3R, do not regret the upgrade. Both of these radios can use DSMR and DSM2 RXs, but not the DSM RXs. To use the DSM2 RXs you might have to lower the resolution. |

How is it failing out of curiosity? I need one thats DSM compatible for my BnD losi micros because of their proprietary electronic setup. Those little brushless combos arent cheap and too many to change out. My DX3R gave up a couple months ago.... Maybe I can make one good one out of the two lol. Greatscott nailed it. If you do have a lot of DSM rx and really want to stick to a DSM compatible radio then look for a DX4 series that has NOT been updated to 2.1 firmware I found one the other day on FB but it sold quick! They are basically the newest radio and features you can get that will work with them. |

After sale my few years ago DX3R I bought one DX4R and past year one DX5 Pro. I feel much more quality upgrade from DX3R to DX4R than DX4R to DX5 Pro, also the lack of slider battery cover and lack of mechanical power button is a donwgrade for me |

Take a look at Flysky Noble. I`ve had spektrum and high end futabas, even had Jeti DS-16 as a flight radio, and cant say anything negative about the Noble. I really really like it. Best highlight is screen and battery, but the grip and response is also top notch. |

I had a DX3R pro for years, loved it but the selection wheel also stopped working. I bought a new DX4R pro, I had to change a few receivers but like the DX4. I gave a friend the DX3 and he sent it to the factory for repair and an upgrade, wish I would have done that. |
