Default Spektrum 2s Battery Question

Thinking of this for my Wraith Spawn.

Anyone try this battery? Just for my crawling sessions; not competition.

That pack will work fine, but it is a bit expensive for a 2S pack. Might I suggest these offerings from SMC racing:

Don't support that crap
Sooner or later spektrum will require the ESC and radio to be coded with the battery and motor to make sure you are forced to buy only spektrum brand

Oh my.

That would not be good at all. Down side is I have a dozen of their batteries, charger, and DX5 Pro transmitter.

I'm not terribly impressed with the $300 transmitter; it is not intuitive to me.

Oh well. I'm game for trying new batteries and such.

Seems over priced. I wouldn't buy it.

I think it has its place. It makes things plug and play which is what most newbies want. The more accessible companies make RC to people, the more that will hopefully join this awesome hobby.

This is kind of what I think of when the topic of the Traxxas BEC comes up (although, not so angry). There are better options out there, less expensive, more power, etc... But, for the new guy that is just looking to run his truck reliably on the trail, having a plug-n-play option isn't bad. It keeps him (or her) happy, reduces the learning curve, reduces the frustration, and helps keep new blood in the hobby.

Exactly. When I bought my nephew his first RC I went with Traxxas. Why? Because it just works and is very simple to use. Then when I bought him a charger and new batteries I also went with Traxxas. I think it's overpriced, but it just works and is very simple for him to understand and use. It's nearly foolproof and that's exactly what most newbies want and need.

Can't say if it fits, but if you want to stick with spektrum you'd be better off with this one: https://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/...SPMX50002S30H3

The one you linked is specifically for receivers and has a super small C rating.
