Please help!!! Motor problems

Hello all. Nice to meet you. I am new to this site thanks for letting me join. I have an electronics problem. I hooked everthing up last night and the the motor was fighting very hard to move at all when powered and gets warm fast. The motor acts like normal when unpowered (moves with little resistance). When powered if I pull the throttle the motor starts and try’s to move but acts like it is meeting severe resistance. The motor has no pinion on it currently and is acting this way. I am in need of some advice. It’s hard for me to figure out what is causing this.

I am running:
Motor: Tekin roc 412 hd 3100kv
ESC: Castle creations Mamba X
Lipo: Gens Ace 5000 mAH 7.4v 50c 2s

Thanks in advance for any help you could provide!!!

Is every thing in the drivetrain is spinning freely, if motor isn't installed?
Maybe bad senor cable. Did you connect the motor correctly (motor to esc: a to a, b to b, c to c).
Did you setup the ESC? Did you calibrate it?
Just a few things that came to my mind.

Yeti,
Thanks for taking the time. All connections are made correctly and are new components. The motor is installed with out a pinion gear. The. Esc has been setup and calibrated. I think I have an additional sensor wire I can test with. This is really stumping me.. Thanks for any help you can provide

Sounds like it has a wrong setting in the esc.

its posable the wires are wrong sometimes there marked differntly on the motor and esc take the sensor off and play with the wires it sounds like 2 wires are backwards
and make sure the esc is set for brushless sensored mode
