Default Brand New SCX10 ii Cherokee Throttle Issues

I just bought my Daughter a New SCX10 ii Cherokee and it is noticeably slower than mine, like it’s not getting full throttle signal or something. It even sounds like it’s not getting wide open throttle as in the audible sound is different.

Any suggestions on what this could be? I honestly don’t know enough about it to accurately diagnose what’s wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here are a few things that come to mind that I would check.
Is the battery fully charged?
Is there a throttle endpoint adjustment on the radio that is set low?
Not sure what rig you are comparing the speed to but gear ratios may be different(nothing you can do about that except change the spur and pinion gears)
Again, not sure what rig you're comparing to but the motor is a 35t which will be slower than a 27t, 21t, or 20t motor.
Check the little setting jumpers on the ESC and make sure they are pushed on all the way. (May be unrelated but I'd check anyways)
Check for loose connections to the motor or bad solder joints at the motor itself.
I don't know anything about that radio system but look in the instruction booklet and see if there is any sort of 'hidden' settings like a training mode or something like that.

Hopefully something there solves the issue!

Thanks for the reply.

I’m comparing it to the exact same vehicle. Both completely in stock form in regards to electronics and gearing. Both have Proline XL Sized tires, (Hyrax-Krawler) So even that should be close enough to rule that out.

We had Fully charged batteries and I even swapped with her when I realized the acceleration difference to rule that out. I’ve tried going into the end point calibration settings of the radio and that hasn’t made any notable difference...if any at all.

I did notice the throttle trim knob on the radio barely changes at all in forward, but is much more responsive in reverse.

That sounds like you need to reverse the motor direction. Then recalibrate.
When it’s faster in reverse than forwards motor is wrong direction to esc

It’s not faster in Reverse, the throttle trim knob affects reverse much more than forward.

As this is a new SCX10 ii, it should have come with the Tactic TTX300 transmitter and the TR325 receiver. It sounds like you need to adjust the throttle endpoints. This is explained in detail in the Tactic TTX300 manual.

If you didn't get the Transmitter/Receiver manual with the RC, go here -
http://manuals.hobbico.com/tac/tacj0300-manual.pdf

Although I don't think the manual says anything about it, set the throttle trim to "0" before starting the throttle endpoint adjustment.

By the way, the throttle trim only adjusts for forward/reverse creep. That is, if the throttle is in the neutral position and the RC is creeping forward or reverse, adjust the throttle trim until it stops.
