Default Moped esc help??!!

First a question. I am running a moped speed controller. Now my nylint crawler works fine without a reciever pack( the moped has 5vlt and 3amp bec. But, I know that more voltage and amps means my steering servo will put out more power. So I hooked up my bro's revo 6vlt reciever pack to my reciever(exact same reciever). And my steering is twice as strong!!!! But! My speed controller wont go in reverse hardly, and very low power in forward. What is up???? Why can't I run a reciever pack ???

Help please!

Did you remove the red wire from the ESC RX plug? If not, you just might have hurt the MoPed...

No?? Please explain. You mean the red wire from the esc that goes to the reciever? The moped seems to work fine still. Nothing was in the instructions?

Thanks

Yep.. That's the wire I mean...

You need to remove it or you take one BIG chance of cooking the BEC in the ESC... They don't say that in the instuctions 'cos they don't figure that a receiver pack will be used as the ESC's BEC can power the RX and 1 servo somewhat... But the MoPed's BEC isn't up to 2 servo's... Chances are it won't go into reverse 'cos it's fighting the RX pack... Basicly, you're putting dual voltages into the system and that'll cause all kinds of problems...

To remove the red wire, just lift the little tab that holds the wire into the plug and pull the wire out... That way you can still reprogram the ESC when you need to by plugging the red wire back in as well as use the ESC BEC to power the system if/when the RX pack dies... Try that and I bet things work fine...
