Default Updated Revolver and new KV options

HH at it again, making the revolver even smaller, lighter, and a smoother start up. This time around they’ve added 2200kv and 2500kv versions to the line up.

Per JRH on FB he’s expecting more servos around the same time as well.

Schweet!!!

I really want to run a revolver in my Element, wonder how well these will handle a heavy rig (9.5lbs)?

I think it’d be just fine, they produce a ton of torque and I’ve never noticed mine getting hot. The heaviest rig I have it in is about 7lbs with a battery though.

Awesome news!

My 8lb 4oz (without battery) Bomber runs very well on the 1800kv v1 Revolver, using both 3S and 4S... and a Mamba X ESC.

I think one of Szczerba’s multi axle builds was pushing 30 lbs and ran an old Revolver. A 10 lb truck shouldn’t make a full sized Revolver break a sweat.

hmm what happened to the 1000 KV option? I was eying that for an 8X8, guess I was too slow. I suppose I could always ask if they'll make one.

Now I'm wondering about the KV and how it relates to the noise? I find with my V1 1800KV motor that is most pronounced at very, very low RPMs which is making me curious if a higher KV might react different? Anyone have any thoughts or experience?

I find myself driving faster just to get past that noisy RPM.

The more drag brake you have on the louder it is. Iv been using mine on a mamba x and using the adjustable drag brake. It get quieter when the drag brake is off, but it has better start up when the drag brake is on.

I've notice that with brushed motors too when using the adjustable drag brake feature so that makes sense.

I guess I'm also used to the full size version and I've heard the snubnose are quieter due to being smaller.

Oh and here's a link to these motors they're in stock, go go go! https://holmeshobbies.com/motors/bru...er-series.html

I can't decide if I want to get one of these or a Puller Pro v2. Which one would be best for a Axial Capra?

Best may be somewhat subjective. I think this motor will outperform the non Revolver brushless offerings due to the big torque advantage but it doesnt have the higher KV options if you're after more wheelspeed. If you go for the snubnose you can come in a bit lighter so thats a consideration too. But also consider the sound.

Noise isn’t bad. Mine was loud from metal spur gear anyways. Which barks when you get on it.

Motor is tiny. I cannot believe more people aren’t on this boat.

Compared to Trailmaster pro 3300.

Just finished my install, leads can only go in one location, So I'm gonna loop them for lower profile.
SW4 and a 2200 V2 on my SCX10ii with dig. Now I need to make a BEC XT60 adaptor as I forgot to get a new BEC.

I've heard these on the trail... from a hundred yards away. Saying the noise isn't bad is highly subjective. I will say that hopefully by Christmas a new ESC will be on the market from HH that will quiet these bad boys down and more people will probably jump onboard.

Fair enough.

It’s just me and the dog messing around on my rock walls at home. I’m not out in public. It doesn’t bother him or me.

Although with others I can see it being annoying.

I’m sure when I drop the new motor in, the quiet will be obvious.

That would be awesome with the esc’s.
Hopefully since HH and Castle are kind of tied together, a new software version would be available for the Castles to help quiet it down.

I’ve been wanting to try one of these motors in my Axial UMG10 for some time. Finally scored and have a 2500kv V2 snub nose on the way. Anyone have a decent starting point for gearing? No added weight on the truck other than aluminum beadlocks so it’s fairly light. Currently running a Trailmaster Sport 21t with stock gearing (56/15) and assuming that I’ll need to drop a few teeth on the pinion. Any advice to get me pointed in the right direction would be most appreciated. Thanks
