| DX5C Slow to recenter wheels
So I finally got the thing set up but now it is very slow to return the tires to center. Driving forward, turn the wheel, let go of the wheel, turn continues and slowly straightens out. Driving forward or reverse often the tires will just turn on their own. If I suspend it off the ground, the wheels end up turning back and forth or sometimes locking one way or the other with no input from the transmitter. Sitting still, if I turn the wheels often it will start jiggling back and forth. See these two videos for an example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHZgC99Lecg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etavPH-1rQ0 I'm at stock settings on the transmitter. I have tried turning avc off and setting it to zero. Same results. I have a hobywing 1080 and have it set to 7.4 but tried 6v as well. Savox sw-1210SG servo Other than this, everything seems to be working correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by bexline; 06-04-2020 at 07:14 PM. |

Is there any chance I need a bec? I have no idea why the 1080's internal would have been good enough with the traxxas transmitter and receiver and not with the DX5C but I can't think of anything else and most searches for jittery servos return the need for a bec.

I am inclined to say a BEC will not resolve that issue but I could be wrong. Maybe somebody else will chime in having experienced that issue where a BEC resolved it. Do you have another servo you can try or receiver? It may be the servo or receiver causing the issue. Also set that internal BEC on the 1080 to 6V and leave it there. You will eventually burn out your micro servos for 2 speed and locking diffs running it at 7.4V. If you want to run 7.4V, which your Savox can handle, you will want a BEC to achieve that 7.4V while letting the ESC send the 6V to the micro servos. I had a Specktrum rx with AVC, I didn't like it I thought it was turning my Slash when I didn't want to turn or it wouldn't turn when I wanted to turn. Turning it off with the TX didn't seem to help but made it worse. As I recall I had to bind the rx to turn off AVC in the rx. Should be able to find the procedure in the manual for the rx.

If your receiver has AVC absolutely look up the instructions to turn off AVC during the binding procedure and rebind it with no AVC and see if that resolves it. | |

Resolved. Thanks for the suggestions. I had the avc turned off on the remote but not the receiver itself. Had to manually turn it off then re-bound and problem fixed. Been pulling my hair out. Thanks again. |
