Default What are ya'll running for servos?

been out of the game for a bit and just completed a scx10iii. I used a HS7950TH that I had laying around and it works great. I'm about to pick up another scx10iii kit and will need a servo. I keep seeing all these different brands of servos that are out now but don't know if they are worth a crap or not. Last time I was involved in the hobby Savox servos were the new thing. So what are all you guys running these days?

Do you have an approximate budget? If yes, sharing it will help narrow the responses you get.

Personally I use the DS3218MG from Amazon. It's ok. It's cheap. It's stronger that what comes with RTRs, but you can obviously do much better.

Using a Savox 1210SG myself, never found myself needing more, no issues. Could have longer leads though.

I'll bite, I absolutely love the build quality and the fact they're US based but one thing I dont care for is the performance. If only the performance could match its build quality and beefy gears this would be THE servo but I cant recommend it. Everyone's standards are different though so mileage may vary.

For me Savox 2290 or the HH SHV500 V3 but I'm a buy once cry once type.

Thanks all. I went with the savox 2290. Not sure if I'm totally impressed, or if I'm not feeding it enough voltage. But it seems to stall relatively easily. My HS-7950TH has more power. Kinda upset because I bought 2 of them that my LHS had on special for $119 each.

Savox 2290 (hums)
Holmes Hobbies SHV500v2 (silent)
Holmes Hobbies SHV500v3 (hums) I hear if your order from Holmes Hobbies website they can turn it down to reduce the hum on request.

I really like the Holmes v2 servos silent and powerful plus direct to battery connection so no need for a BEC.

No bec. Just 6v from the reciever. I have a CC bec I could use, but my micro servos I have are only 6v friendly.

Get/make a bypass adapter so you can feed just the steering servo 8.4v

What ESC? That thing draws up to 7.5A at 6 volts.

That's probably why you aren't happy with it.

This ^^^^^ paired with a Castle 10amp BEC set to 8.4v and you're good to go.
