I have been looking at this particular radio, and am asking to anyone who might know, Does it have the ability of a 3 position switch or not? I am asking mainly as I would like to put a winch on eventually and dont want to make the mistake of not having the right radio to operate it. TIA. |

Simple answer - yes. The 4PM is, in many ways, just a lowered-channel version of the 7PX I'm using. Both have SW 'switches' (ie. buttons), as well at DT dials (ie. digital trim). In the settings, you would change the "steps" of your selected DT to '100' (default is usually '1' or '2'). This way, rotating left/right would produce results of -100/0/+100...essentially, a 3-position switch. For the dig on my first Capra, that's exactly how I got it to function as a 3-position dig, instead of just a 2-position dig. The most important thing to remember is to set the endpoints super low (I usually start around 25), and then gradually increase the value until you find the 'needed' endpoint. This is just as important on a winch as it is on a dig servo, or a transmission (for 2-speed trannys) servo. ~ More peace, love, laughter & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |
