Default Electronics Supply

most of the recommended electronics (servos, tex/rx, motors) are sold out. i understand that this is a niche market but how often are things sold out vs available? i’m new to the hobby and am looking to build a kit next but the electronics is like to use are not available.

It's the dang virus man! Everyone is stuck at home so all the hobby stuff is sold out everywhere. My LHS say they've never been so busy since the day they opened. Folks are bored...

That combined with the shortage of electronics and everything else coming from China. I started my build up early enough to get almost everything I needed, except a charger. I finally got that today after waiting forever. Now to hunt down some black paint...

I warned about parts shortages three months ago. Due to the current world wide pandemic, parts are in short supply everywhere.

Expect parts shortges.

Obviously it depends on what you are looking for - but for 1.9", 1.7", or 1.55" wheel-size scale and trail rigs - the following setup is tried and true, all available currently from US shipping locations and VERY inexpensive - if you later want to upgrade, these items make great spares to throw in your gear bag when you go crawling.

Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster or Crawlmaster Sport motor - $14.99 - $19.99
HobbyWing 1080 ESC - $41.99
DS3218 servo - $16.99
FlySky GT3C radio - $67.59

When imports from Asia start up again, can we expect a glut and discounts or high prices because of pent up demand?
