Default Brushless the way to go ...

I am looking for a ESC and a motor for my TLT crawler.

I see that there are a lot of Integy motors used for a crwaler, but i am thinking about some thing else.

I have layed a eye on the Novak Crawler Brushless Motor System, is this the way to go crawling

Any one with experiance with the brushless set ?

greets from the Netherlands

Not a second thought...Go with the Holmes RR2 with the Mamba 25. You cannot go wrong. Smooth power with a ton of torque. Look him up in the vender section or a Holmeshobbies.com.

if you want to use it for more than just crawling, occasional running or bashing, go with the crawler. its got killer low end torque and awesome topend. make sure you get the revised one however, though if you dont you can send it back to novak for updating. i got 2 i am waiting for to come back, they are awesome systems and revised should be wicked awesome.

Hands down,Holmes Hobbies. You won't beat John's customer service and prices. IMHO,the Mamba Max is thee best crawling ESC. Allot of guys run the Mamba 25 in a 2.2 sized rig,but I'd prefer the Max. I've got both of them and both are nice units. The Max actually has a case with heat sinks and is more robust than a 25.

Brushless generally means you can run smaller motors with higher voltage. Both of which are great for crawling.

However, I didn't like using the Mamba 25 in my TLT SW2 because the BEC only had 1.5 amps and had a hard time turning the front wheels on my crawler (They are big IMEX All-T's though).

So I switched to a Quark 33 and am finding the results to be better, but there are still a few bugs.

In the end if you can afford it the Novak crawling system will likely end up being the best out there, but the Mamba Max ESC (can run both brushed and brushless) with an outrunner motor could be an awesome combination.

Brushless gives good speed, great torque and light weight. It's still a little new, but will only get better.

Mamba max is worth every penny over the mamba and the quark in my experience. Plus you can run yourself a brushed motor if you want and have silky smooth startup power if your pocketbook can't handle both brushless and that esc at once.

Hands down mamba 25 esc and Holmes Hobbies RR2. I run this set up in my SW2 with 86 spur 13 pinion on a stampede tranny with a 3 cell 2480 lipo and it rocks. I also run my steering servo and servo for my front dig steer with a seperate small 6 volt 1200 mah rec. battery pack helps out when you run this when useing a steering servo with 330 oz in of torque. What ever you pick have fun with it lol!

im not sure if theres a way or not by looking at it. email novak, they should be able to tell you. if you can i would cancel my order with tower and maybe buy direct from novak, that should definately be the revised edition. may cost a little more but it would be worth it not having to send it back and waiting for it to get updated.

A motor that is at least 3.5 ounces IMO, if you are wanting comp use too. An eflight park 400 would work pretty good, but something larger like a hyperion z3013 or any other 28mm (power 10, himax 3516, mpjet 2810, stator motor gives a ton more torque.

so would the hyperion z3013 be good enough, or should i go with the z3025-08 which has more power?

Chances are, with the 3025-8,you'll rip those TLT axles to shreads. IMHO,it's a great motor for supers if you've got near bomb proof axles. Trust me,it IS a HOSS. You'll notice looking around, most guys with 2.2 and TLT sized rigs will be running the smaller outrunners. The TLT's I've seen run with the smaller Hyperions are PLEANTY stout enough.
