Just as the title says, what’s a good cheap servo for a trx4? My 2075 is locked up and I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t care if it’s not waterproof, I can waterproof it myself. TIA

I'm running the Savox 1230SG in all of my TRX4s, a couple of the trucks have over 1000 hours of run time without a servo failure. The 1230SG is rated at 500 oz in at 6v making it a nice fit for the TRX4 electronics. At $72 it is not the cheapest but I have two that have over 1000 hours which makes it a good value.

i had a budget high-torque servo from amazon. its specs seemed to be reaching farther than it could deliver. then tried a Savox 1210. still not impressed and the constant noise bothered me. Now i have a HH v3 and its still loud, but i my rig finally has a servo with enough umph. So just go for a good quality or spend more trying to find a cheap one that works for you.

I'm currently testing this one in my Defender TRX-4: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ANNIMOS 35KG Coreless Digital Servo Motor 7.4V High Voltage Stainless Steel Gear High Torque Waterproof Operating voltage range: 5-7.4V Operating speed ( 5.0V ): 0.1 3sec/60 degree Operating speed ( 6.0V ): 0.12 sec/60 degree Operating speed ( 7.4V ): 0.11 sec/60 degree Stall torque ( 5.0V ): 29kg/cm Stall torque ( 6.0V ): 32kg/cm Stall torque ( 7.4V ): 35kg/cm I have a DS3218 in my Ascender that's still going strong after a couple years and a DS3218 Pro in my Enduro (slightly faster/stronger). My Bomber has a Holmes SHV500 v1, and I have a ProModeler PM470 for Bomber build #2.... It just depends on the weight of the rig and the size of the tires - I'll usually run a budget servo on a 1.9" trail truck. If I find they continually give me issues I'll upgrade - but so far so good. I have wrecked several RTR servos... ![]() |

We have an entire thread for this. PowerHD isn't bad, but I think they are overrated. I have a couple myself and they don't have the power that they claim to have. What the newest cheap servo hotness? |
