Default Hobbywing 1080 quirky issue

Has anyone had a similar 1080 spin the motor in the opposite direction?

I recently bought a Capra with a 1080 and HH 27t trailmaster. When I paired my tx/rx it ran backwards. So I swapped the wires no biggy, figured the guy was running his tx in reverse.

Pulled the 27t out and swapped it with a 35t that ran correctly in my other Capra now they both run backwards.
I know it’s just a matter of switching wires but anyone with a Capra knows it’s not a small challenge to do so.

Curious if anyone else has seen this?

You can reverse your throttle on the radio as well no?
On the hobbywing you need to check the forward and reverse power and align them with the throttle direction

Not exactly, the 1080 is programmable for reverse strength etc. So if you reverse the throttle all the tuning is messed up... I know because this happened the first time I used one..

All the wires match, and the motor wires for brushed don’t matter. You can switch to reverse the motor. I’m just curious why 2 1080’s that appear to be identical, same wire location and what not spin motors in opposite directions.

So I think I figured it out, I believe that the red dot on the 27t motor marking “positive” was not correct. Therefore causing me to wire the 1080 backwards originally and when switching motors them both spinning the wrong way.

Look at the color of the led, is it green for forward on both rigs? Axial tactic radios are bass akwards. Set reverse speed on the esc really low to make sure reverse is really reverse.

As you say, motor could be marked wrong, or transmission could be reversing direction too.
