In a maxx, the 645 gears aren't going to last long. In our tlt, the gears didn't last long. If you run a servo saver, your tires won't turn in a bind, the saver will unload.

For a Maxx you should get a Hitec HS-5645mg servo. They have 164 oz of torque. But if you want to go all out and get the best of the best, get a HS-805bb 1/4 scale servo. These servos have 343 oz of torque!! Hope this helps, and good luck with your Maxx!

The 645 and 5645 have the same gears. I have heard good things about the 805.

Yes these servos do have alot of torque, but they cost over $100!! The 805s have 343 oz of torque for only $40 at Tower Hobbies. So you can pay $100 to get 333 oz of torque, or you can pay $40 for 343 oz of torque.

It shouldn't break or strip or anything of that sort. I would tell you how well they perform, but the rig I have them on is not finished yet. Anyway, here is the pic!!
