| Reccomend a dual charger?
Hi, Can you guys recommend a good Dual lipo charger? I'm looking for 2-4s, 6s capable is nice, but I don't need it, and also a decent amp rating. I mainly have 3s 5000 lipos, but I also have some 4s5000s, Anything under $200 is good Thanks. |

I’m a happy Hitec guy, I’ve had mine for four years failure free. Lipos, Nimh, and Life. That said the newer 4x would be my choice. https://hitecrcd.com/products/charge...harger/product https://hitecrcd.com/products/charge...harger/product Hang up and Drive |

Caution of some of the above recommended chargers. Look at the wattage of the charger more so than the amps. Most modern chargers can do 6S / 6A but handling the power (watts) is another issue. Since you are running big packs, a 3S 5000 will require 55.5 watts to be able to charge at 1C or 5A. Your 4S 5000 will need even more, 74 watts. If your charger can not handle the wattage it will drop the charging current. For example, if you charger is 50 watts, your 4S 5000 won't be able to be charged at 5A. Nothing wrong with that, but your charging time increases. Also, if you have a big a$$ charger that can handle the watts, you can parallel charge your packs. Charge multiple packs in the time it takes to charge one pack. For the packs you use I would not go less than 200 watts. For my airplanes I have a Revolectrix GT1000 (discontinued) which has dual 1000 watt channels for a total 2000 watts in one unit. Charging heaven! |

So that's why my 4s 6500mah pack is so slow to charge on my D100. I set it to 50w per channel... Damn... What a good power supply / charger that won't break the bank around 300-400w? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

If you are good with electronics, you can get a Dell/HP surplus charger on eBay for like $15/$20. Some soldering later you'll have a 12V power supply that can pump out 400-500 watts. No additional electronics circuity needed. Just solder some jumpers together and bring the output to terminals where you can plug your leads into. There are instructions on how to do this all over the internet. I have built one of these for my 1000w x 2 charger. If you don't want to deal with the fuss, you can get it ready made. One is 12V and the other is 24V, if your charger can take 24V (most DC powered charger can). However, both are 400W. $25 each. Dirt cheap in my mind for a regulated power supply. https://www.readymaderc.com/products...er-supply-xt60 https://www.readymaderc.com/products...er-supply-xt60

I have a Dynamite Passport Ultra 2. Two charging ports, 50w per channel, bluetooth. I think it is the same or upgraded version of D100. Has been doping well for me with all of the different batteries i have accumulated.

My dual charger is the Hota D6+. Charger specs Very pleased with it but I only run 1500,2200mah 3s packs though. Built like a tank. 100$ from Bangood but the downside is the literal slow boat from China. Charging at 1c it seems to take as long as my RDX-1 mini. I guess charger bigger packs is where you’ll see the increased watt benefit. Storage mode is noticeably faster with the D6+ though. Last edited by Benp; 10-13-2020 at 08:52 AM. |

I've been using my Thunder AC6 for at least 9 years and its been great. It only charges one pack at a time, but you could by 3 or 4 chargers with a budget of $200. With that said, I do kind of like the idea of a charger that could do multiple packs... |

What about a multiple battery adapter? Is that a bad idea? https://www.amazon.com/AKK-Parallel-...ustomerReviews |

| Re: Reccomend a dual charger? The review videos I saw were all really favorable. As I mentioned, I feel it shines with the bigger packs and parallel charging multiples. It is Bluetooth capable and a lot more adjustability available than with the straight charger itself. I agree on getting a lot for the price. I hope the reliability is as good as its value. The only downside really is the month+ wait for the shipping. |

This one have polyfuses on all balance ports. Much, much safer. And with polyfuses, they self rest once the short is removed. https://www.buddyrc.com/collections/...30274519138390 I charge four packs for my airplanes at once. All four packs done in 30-40 minutes.

Here's a unit that I isolated the ground as my original intention was to combine two units for 24V output. You cannot connect the two units' ground or you risk an electrical shock. I added the label to remind myself. It became too unwieldy when I tried adding a second supply and made it heavy and not too portable so I just used one supply. So far so good. BTW, I check the label on the unit and it says 502 watt output at 12 volts. So the math says 41.8 amps! I added the parallel board in the picture for a size reference. This is a close up of soldering the correct jumpers and soldering on the terminals so you can use banana jacks for the charging leads or cables. BTW, the power supplies cost me nothing. My work was throwing them out by the boat load even though they were perfectly fine and working. Server power supplies have a life expectancy rating (3 years in this case). When the time is up, you are required to replace them all with new ones to guarantee 99.9% up time, even if they are working. Don't want to tell the boss you tried to save a few dollars and the whole company shuts down.
