Silicone WIre to Stock?

Greetings from Maine,

If I want to stock some wire at my RC Work Bench, What would the basic kind and size to start with?

I am looking to stock some basic connectors also, still researching both.

Thanks for the input.

Connectors depend on what you run/what you plan on running. I run Traxxas batteries, so I have quite a few extra Traxxas ID plugs on hand. Also it’s a good idea to always have heat shrink and electrical tape.

As for wire sizes, anything under 10 gauge wire is what you’ll be using most of the time. The biggest I’ve used is 12, but on batteries, it may be 10 gauge. I would grab some 10, 12 and 14 if I were you.

I stocked up on some these items a few months ago. Saved a bundle.

In my workshop inventory I try to carry:

Wire for batteries/esc's: 12ga, 14ga & a little bit of 10ga (I've nevr used 10ga in a crawler application. Usually 12, sometimes even 14)
Wire for wiring lights, winches, servo extensions etc: 18ga, 20ga & 22ga

Realistically I could easily get away with just: 12ga & 22ga for 90% of the work I do.

For connectors and stuff:
JST connectors (M&F)
Dean's connectors (M&F) (I may swicth to XT60 but for now I stock Deans b/c that's what I'm wired for)
Lots of misc led's, 3mm and 5mm
Lots of miscellaneous resistors, mostly under 1k ohm for rc stuff that runs off 5/6v Rx power.
