Trouble with Sense Inovation ESS Dual

I installed a sense ESS duel in my Traxxas TRX 4. It couldn’t have been any easier. It was practically plug and play.

Now I’m trying to add one to myAxial SCX6. I plugged in the power lead, plugged in the wire adapter, split throttle channel as directed. It does nothing on turn on. Therefore I assume I would have to calibrate it. I cannot get it into the calibration mode. I have both blue lights, under the minus and plus button, flashing together. You’re supposed to hold the place down for one second and get a beep to get it into calibration. I can’t get that beep. Just continual both lights flashing. This is the second one that I have tried. It Hass to be pilot air because I doubt two of these will be defective. What am I doing wrong?
