Default New Holmes Servo - SHV800

JRH is a busy man and doesn’t get on here much anymore but this choice bit of info hit FB today.

1000 oz of torque on 3S and 1300 on 4S. I’m going to need a couple of these and figure out which trucks to convert to 4S power.

Oh, there is also a Holmes SHV servo winch coming soon too.

Nice find - gonna be a beast, for sure!

Heck, I still haven't worn out my SHV500 v1...

Yeah my v2 is still going strong after 3 years. Last 6 months on the big USD sticky 2.2 and it never flinched!

John's already making some of the best servos on the market. But apparently that just isnt enough.

These look to be the new hotness for sure. Already seen plenty of fawktards on bookface asking why anyone needs this much power. Who are YOU to say what I need? I want more power and I'll gladly pay for it. You don't want it so no need to buy it, nobody is forcing it on you.

It’s an internal spool design with an aluminum case machined for servo winch duty, 2-4S capable with built in controller, and supposed to be crazy fast on the line speed for comp use. The official release on that was supposed to be the end of this week so I’m guessing they will be available soon.

Sweet! I've been looking to get an internal spool style winch. I have many external spool winches and it is sometimes hard to find a good place to mount them in tight places.

Also like hearing that it is "crazy" fast!

I was told they should cost around $150, if it changes from that I assume it would only go up though, because there is little wiggle room in cutting the cost without loosing quality.

Thanks for the specs sticker!

I wonder if it’s underrated like they did with the shv500v3?

That’s crazy. Lol. Basically because you know that’s what the servo will pull in real life.

I found an awesome RC servo testing channel on YouTube beginning of December that unfortunately seemed to of gone poof.

Very very objective testing and I would of loved to see him get his hands on this.

RC Review, maybe?

Their servo videos seem pretty good, though I wish they'd just publish a spreadsheet of the results or something instead; and have individual videos for each servo or something.

Nope not RC review.

Was called something like RC servo tester.

It’s too bad it disappeared. His testing to me was very objective.

While I do like RC reviews channel, they have done some things that left me scratching my head testing wise.

People thought the same thing about 300 oz of torque when Hitec brought out the 5955 servo 20ish years ago.

The servo tester page you're talking about was run by the owner of NSDRC. He was revealed and dirty deleted his videos.
