| After buying cheap ESC's I decided to buck up and go with a Novak XRS (54.00$ aint bad either). I was real pleased with the smoothness it had , the reverse delay is almost non-existant if your not going full-throttle and slamming into reverse. The only problem I encountered was while on a technical section on the course it shut down , no throttle or steering . I had to turn the switch off then on , then it would go . it did this twice in a hour . I am running a TLt , 55-turn , 3300 6-cell nihms (split 4x2) , no reciever pack cuz of the 6-cell . Has anyone had this issue ? This would be very frustrating during a comp. any help would be appreciated . |

| thermal shutdown, getting to hot from running it real slow, I bet you were creeping alot? mine gets warm so I get on the throttle a bit to keep it cooler! I might start bring a crap pack to run full throttle inbetween runs! |

| I've never had that problem with mine. It's my second one. My first crapped out and started glitching on me but I really like the size of it and the "no delay" reverse. I'm running a Novak servo regulator to make up for it's low BEC. |

| Sounds like BEC troubles. What servo are you running? Why no reciever pack because of the 6 cell? Are you tapping cells from your main pack for servo power? If so, did you remember to remove your red reciever wire. After owning few Novaks it seems nothing compares in quality. Well, that is till you go brushless. |

| That servo draws 1.3 amps at 5 volts when at stall... much more than the BEC can handle. 6 volts would up the torque to 140oz.in too. |

| You could get a servo regulator from Tower for 20 bucks. I'm running two Futaba 3305's (One for steering and the other for front dig with no problems. It has a BEC of 6V/3A. That way you have no extra weight from a Rx pack. |

And some of the XRSs are better than others. You got a good one if it's not activating its thermal protection while crawling.

| The 645 is only a litle over 107oz/in at 5 volts. Of course it's outpowered by the JR 125. |

Also the reason they don't just add a pack like you have is they are trying to save weight or just don't want to charge another pack.

He didnt say he was running that as a RX, and your pack is killing your power. I had IB1200 6c pack and I put a 6c 1500 Sub C pack, and now I got way more power, and a little worse runtimes because its old. Plus the RX cant handle a 6c elite 1500. Try 5 cell AA pack. I have no problems with a 142oz servo!
