Default Reverse Problems

I am having some problems with the reverse on my truck. I am using a Mtroniks rv 15 esc and a Integy 55 turn lathe motor. A traxxas tq3 controller with the 3 channel traxxas reciever. The battery is fully charged. I have the reverse on the esc set at no delay also. When i give it full reverse nothing happens. So i have to give it reverse very slowly and gradually. And when i get to full reverse, it stops. It is really weird. I made a quick video of it, you'll hopefully see what i'm talking about. I need some help bad.

Mtroniks = MSD (might suddenly die)

I have had them last forever, and I have had them go up in smoke Just after soldering all the wires on and connecting a battery.

Crap shoot with those I'm affraid.

Good news is If you send it back to germany, they have ALWAYS replaced my burned up ones, just pay the shipping.

After watching your video again. try a different motor. is the motor you are using timed neutral?

You might be triggering motor short protection.
clean your brushes and com

that freakin sux. i just got done ordering the same exact motor and esc like 2 min. ago. i wish i would have read this first. is the esc new also. maybe you should try and reset the throttle on the esc. i know on some when you first hook them up you have to pull the triger all the way forward then in reverse to set it.

hmm, and you have motor capacitors?

I would try redoing the setup....

Also, sounds weird, but disable reverse and drive it for a second, then power down, Reenable reverse and try again.

I did this with mine and was able to get reverse back. Software bug?

If none of that works It needs to go back to germany, if you got it from a LHS they will send it for you. Otherwise e-mail Mtroniks. they will tell you everything you need to know to send it back in.

Sorry man, They are GOOD esc's but some of them have attitudes.
I had one that lasted for YEARS with all types of abuse, I wish I still had it. When my truck got stolen my nylant was in the back and they got me for a digital servo, my mtroniks and an XR3i Bitches!

I set it correctly, you can't drive unless you do i think. I'm going to go back over the directions and see if i can program it differently to get it to work. I wouldn't worry about yours, all the other people are very pleased with them. Also, if youre worried about water ruining it, even though it says waterproof, don't be. I drove my truck up to the fenders on the Jeep body and the esc was all the way under and it still works fine. It is pretty awesome, except the part where mine doesn't reverse.

Edit: That sucks. Yeah, i was going to try to redo the setup right now. I'll let everyone know if it works or not. Thanks for all the help.

I would not worry man, a 55t on that ESC is like running a 2 watt light bulb on a 2000 watt generator.

You just can't overload that setup. Unless you overvolt.

Factory defects suck but these guys take care of you!

Yes I wasn't saying you set it up incorrectly, Just suggesting to reset everything because it has worked in the past for me!

Goodluck!

I tried it again and it doesn't work still. I'll probably just leave it since i don't usually flip or back up real fast, but when i'm going in water and stuff, i might need to.

Are you sure it is programmed correctly? It looks like you have the brake feature set in the full reverse position, try setting the brake slightly in reverse past neutral ,instead of setting it at full reverse.

It still doesn't work. Do you think it is just a bad esc? I am probably going to e-mail mtroniks and see if they know what the problem could be.
