HW 1080 and 370 motor?

I’ve been knocking around for the last while with my wpl c24-1. I have been using their “new” v3 soundboard/esc/receiver. Not bad for what it is, but I’m getting a little tired of the cheap feeling transmitter and near complete lack of adjustability (epa being the biggest need).

I also suffer from tinnitus in both ears after 30 years in the military (helo SAR), so even the chance that I might be able to tune out or reduce that horrible electronics “whine” would make the cost and trouble well worth it. That whine sets off the ringing in my ears every time I run these little trucks, its just flat out misery for me.

I’m going with a radiolink rc6gs for the new transmitter. I really like its reviews, features and the fact that I can program one transmitter for 10 receivers. That covers all my current rigs and leaves me 5 open slots.

Which leaves me with needing an esc for the WPL trucks that have integrated electronics.

I really want the features and programability of the HW 1080. Size seems to be small enough for the wpl trucks and price isn’t super stupid crazy.

My only question: is the 1080 fine to run the 370 motors I have in both my wpl trucks?

I think it should be fine. I guess I’m just looking for input from anyone who has run a 1080 on a 370 motor.

My other truck runs a HW fusion, so no esc needed there. Just pop in a RL receiver and good to go.

The only 370 motor I have powers the steering in my power wheels and it's running on a hw1080.

For brushed motors size is not a big deal unless you exceed the Amp limit.

There are smaller esc's that are quiet, cheap and smaller though.

Donaldsneffe on YouTube has som good videos of them on YouTube.

Just as an example of one option. Maybe it's too small (low amps) for a 370 but I doubt it.
