Default Esc and battery connector

I've been running deans since the beginning, recently added tracxas vehicles to our stable and I'm sick of forgetting adapters for the traxxas to dean. I see Dean lost the patent and bow there's a ton of knockoffs on Amazon and eBay. LHS has one male pack of "real" deans for 9 DOLLARS!
Amazon has "updated " knockoffs that have a black cap for the solder joint BUT they are only rated at 20amps😡
I also see Amazon has "knockoff" I guess XT60 plugs which say 60amp but who knows if that's true or not. 15 pairs are only $12

I'd like to stay with the deans style since I have over TWENTY rc vehicls I'd have to change to XT60 but I'd have no problem if the XT60 are that superior

they are alot better and alot easyer to solder up to
im like you and most of my rigs have deans plugs but im slowly converting over
for me most of my rigs have dedicated batterys so that makes the change over easyer

I swapped all my crawlers to xt60s, my bashers still run trx at the moment. The deans were a bit of a pain imo

I was a Dean's devotee for a very long time. They work well, especially for crawler rigs. I like how compact they are, and how easy they are to solder up. But, as mentioned, genuine Dean's are very expensive, and I have a couple of the knock-offs melt on me at relatively low amperage. So, I have started rolling my fleet to XT60s.

There are two ways to make the transition, all at once, or in stages. I have chosen the latter, installing XT-60s whenever I do any real work on a rig; and installing XT-60s on new builds from the get-go. It is a bit annoying having to use Dean's/XT-60 converters, but it is not too terrible. If I had the time and the gumption, I would spend a weekend and divorce from Dean's altogether, but between work, school and house work, I just don't have that kind of time right now.

Okay yous convinced me on the xt60's, and I'll do a complete swap out on ALL my rigs and batteries.
BUT are the ones I listed from Amazon any good or should I buy different ones???

I use these Amass ones as well. About a year and a half ago I swapped all of my Traxxas plugs (12 rigs worth plus all of my batteries) for XT60. Didn’t make sense to keep running the Traxxas plugs when a lot of escs and batteries already come with XT60 plugs installed and I was switching those all to Traxxas plugs because that’s what I was already using. So went back through and gave them all the XT60 treatment. Just felt like it is all.

To make soldering to the XT60 even easier, you can grab the part of the post you solder the wires to with a pair of needle nose pliers and rotate them 90 degrees. This way both U shaped portions are facing the same direction with the connector laying flat.

Nice tip! I’ll try that next time.

Well I bought the "amass" ones from Amazon. The description says "genuine " and they arrived today. Plugs click together beautifully/ wire cover clicks in hard and won't come out/they have amass on the body/they are off yellow which seems to be correct from what I've read....ONLY problem is they are package in a bag with Japanese writing all over it! Seems they're good quality knockoffs???
