this cheap one have smal cogging inssues sometimes i have seen, and it slows down sometimes, like a 1second stop.
The FOC is not tight like in the PRO series.

Are the expensive Castle or Tekin best ones?
Castle has Cryo drive or what is it called?

This HW Fusion SE is great cheap beginner combo i think.

Pros need better like Castle, Tekin, and others. Also if you do Competition offcourse

I have both the Pro and the 1800 SE.

Pro is in a Vanquish Phoenix and the SE is in a Element Ecto.

In terms of differences, both do the slow speed crawl really well. The Pro is marginally smoother than the SE, but honestly, the SE has 90% of the benefits of the Pro at half the price. Other major difference that I noticed is that its not as fast as fast as the Pro on top end speed.

I haven't noticed any cogging with the SE, but the Ecto doesn't weigh too much or geared too high for it to be an issue.

For durability, I haven't had any issues with it over the last 4 months of owning the SE, but I also tend to have some mechanical sympathy for my rigs and try not to put them into situations that would be bad for the drivetrains.

I have a 1800 Fusion SE, 2300 Fusion Pro, and 3 of the OG 1800 Fusions (I bought the 3rd after my Pro and SE because I like the OG that much). The SE definitely does not have as slow of a start up as the others, but is still really good. Yes, it’s inexpensive, but I’ve seen videos of guys using the SE in full out comp rigs. I have a couple rigs running Castle (Mamba X, Copperhead) escs with Holmes Puller Pro motors and they’re really good also. Also had almost every Castle esc paired with several kvs and sizes of Holmes Revolvers. The drivability was amazing, but the noise was enough to make you want to stick ice picks in your ear drums. Have a Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Mini V2/Holmes 1800 Revolver V3 in my Gmade BOM. That combo is deadly quiet and smooth as can be. Hard to find a best combo in my opinion. Best news is that there are really good options at just about any price range.

It's not going to be as fast as the pro, it's only 1800kv.

I don't have an SE yet, I have an original 1800, 2 pro 2300s and 1 of mine and both my sons have 1080esc set ups. Mine is on a holmes trailmaster sport, 1 is with a stock element enduro 16t motor and the last one is on a stock trx4.

1080 is a good cheap way to upgrade a stock rig cause the stock ESCs usually suck.

My original version 1800 is great, bought it before the new pros came out.

I don't even bother buying anything but the pro now.

The expensive set ups aren't really worth it to me either. The 2300 pro does everything really well. The expensive holmes/castle set ups have their place for low weight on competition rigs. But don't see them do anything "better" than my 2300 pro can do except run higher voltage battery packs. I don't do serious competition so the pro is plenty.

I only got to run the 1800 SE once under some test runs. Out of all of the FOC stuff, the Fusion Pro is what I've experienced first and to me the SE isn't my cup of tea. I live and die for that super slow creep ability the Pro can do and the SE doesn't have that.

Thank you guys.

I will buy the Pro now.
i know the pro is stronger, rigs with big wheels 2.2 like i have mostly i believe the PRO 2300 will be best for me too.
Im sure the 1800kv SE is great in light weight rigs

Offcourse PRO must be better, you pay more also

If i get one light weight 1.9 rig later this year, i will try the SE in it.
I believe it is awsome for that price in light weight rigs

I got a 1200 SE in a straight axle capra running stock transmission with the smallest pinion (11t - IIRC) it has been running smooth and reliable since it came out. (4-5 months) I plan on putting a 3 gear transmission at some point but its fun and the SE is so smooth and slow ... there is not a whole lot to complain about the undergeared drivetrain even with the straight axles, although the FOC works hard against the transmission slop. I have never felt any concerns about the heat.

Yes if you are happy with the stock motor, then the best and most important
upgrade after servo is the poor stock ESC.
1080 is nice , great settings also. Love mine

I self can not drive stock ESC at all, they are not made for Crawling to be honest.

I have 1080 and Holmes sport in one older crawler, im very happy with that
