i have always ran a TQ3 system since i have all traxxas trucks anyway just get ahold of Kevin over at the crawler store and get the switch to convert the 3rd channel so you can operate the rear steer better

I love my modded TQ-3 radio. You could buy 2 ready to go from the crawler store with your budget. |

Full left, center, full right. I have no complaints with it at all.

I went with a Hitec Ranger III http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXCRS3**&P=7 I put a toggle switch on the 3rd channel for reverse steering (center-full left-full right). It works great in my Clod. JKS |

I've had great luck with my jr xr3. Third channel can be run by the side of my thumb. I believe the current xr3i would be the same. Being 75 mhz fm, you have more frequency choice's. Less chance of someone being on you freq. Stormerhobbies has the xr3i for $140. Plus they have a 4 model memory.

I just got a TQ3 transmitter, receiver, crystals, and 80 oz in servo off Ebay for $24.50 shipped. I'm just going to mod it myself with a radio shack switch. if you search ebay, there is about 2 pages of TQ3's....

Putting a switch onto a TQ3 is pretty easy. A Toggle that returns to center is the best. That is what the ClodModRacing UTQ3 uses in Manual Mode. I have only found those switches from mail order places like digikey.com. They do not have the center return type at the shack. If you need a switch I can get you one for a Radio Shack price. Let me know if you will need one.
