It doesn't hurt and will give more power to the servos. Remember to disconnect the red wire on the moped, so you don't burn your BEC. jJ

depends on what servos. Two standards will be fine, even two 645's or mg945's. I run three servos on my 2.2 with the moped, 2 mg955's and 1 sg955.

I had my BFR set up with no receiver pack. 2 55T lathes and two CB-995's. It turned the Big Fu**ing Rig but the difference was night and day when I added an RX pack to it. 'the Kid' is running 2 27t motors and from my understanding (and could probably be wrong) will draw more power from the batteries. So it'd probably help by running a receiver in this case.

I am running clod on two 55t lathes a mg995 for rear and hitec 5645mg front with moped esc and 6 cell4400 on gmade ultrac's. and I see no real big problems, but sometimes the rear servo just doesnt want to turn unless I let off the front a little first. so Im thinking rx pack soon.

I have 2 stock Mabuchis and 2 servo's, HS645MG and Venom VMG steering, thru an EVX... Not the same ESC, but, I DO use an RX pack... Night and day between BEC and RX pack... Plus the added bonus of extended main pack times are good, too... And as said above, don't forget to pull out the red wire on the ESC RX plug or you may let the magic smoke out of the MoPed...

We mean like so: You'll notice, you may hafta click it for full size view, that the red wire, the middle one, is just hangin' in the breeze.. That's what ya want... Slip an Xacto blade under the little tab that holds it in then just pull it out... Clip and all.. Then you can put it back in to reprogram or if your RX pack dies off and you need servo power... I just stick the red wire into the battery port + post, the center one, when my RX packs are toast so I can still power my servo's or reprogram and not have to pull everything apart again later...

why does this need to be done? ive been runing my moped for awhile with a RX pack. lately its been acting funny. glitching, or seeming to shut down competely for 5-10 seconds, or sometimes until the main pack is unplugged adn reconnected, ie reseting the esc.

So you dont' burn up your ESC's BEC. It may also be why your's is acting funny. My moped also acted as your's did when I ran a 9.?V pack through it. It didn't do it at first then it started after the second charge. I quit running that pack and it hasn't done it since.

SMC 1400 MaH 5 cell hump packs are a great deal... But, pretty well any high current 5 cell would do ya well.. Even a cheap-o Venom pack.. I have an SMC 1400 and a Venom 1100 I use with mine... In case one runs out, I have a spare... With 2, I can go all day long and then some... Check cheapbatterypacks.com and see what he's got... I hear he's got some KILLER deals for packs and cells...
