| reversing servo polarity
I bought 2 of the same servos and realized after spending 130 bucks that all I got was crab steering. I know I and 180 the servo horns but I do not have long enough links to do that. Has anyone reversed the polarity of a servo's motor just by reversing some wires?

Run a stand-off that's about the same height as your servo horn and put that in place where your drag link meets the knuckle... It'll lift your steering mount point to make the linkage the right length again and you can have 4WS... I had to do that on a TLT I had last year to make 2WS work... It was also in the TLT manual to do that if you wanted 4WS on one... Give that a shot... Lift yer mount point for the servo the height of the horn horn length used and that'll clear that issue up right away... |

Two channel set up? With a Y-harness? A simple Y-harness will end up doing exactly what you describe, you can do nothing but crab-walk because all it does is split the same signal. Simplest fix is to mount the rear horn upside-down, that will reverse the throw. You'll need a different drag-link though. Or get a Reversing Y-harness like the airplane guys use. They typically will have a trim pot on them also |

Here's a coupea pics of a riser I use on the front of my Clod... My drag link was just a bit too short so I used a riser to reduce the angle and make it work better... The riser's circled in red to spot it out easier... Make one like that to lift yer drag link and use 4WS if you don't want to hack open yer servo... There's also regulators or something for nitro that reverses polarity and such for servo's on planes I think... But this'd be yer safest and cheapest bet... Click pic for full sized... |

The kamikaze mod is the quickest and easiest by FAR. I will never screw around with linkages for reversing again. A reversing Y harness has advantages because of the trim adjustment, but is a bit more cash than resoldering two wires.
