Default reversing rotation on a Brushless motor

Can you reverse the rotation of a brushless motor?

I just got a mamba maxx ESC and a brushless motor, how would I go about reversing it?

Just switch any two of the three wires running to the motor.

Doesn't matter which ones you switch. It won't affect the performance by switching them.

Its a 5700 from castle creations, its actually going in my TC4, but with the weather outside there wasn't enough room to let 'er rip.

So, I have the Green Meanie sitting there, and threw it in. Ballooned up the electronics, and went and hydroplaned across the puddles.

If I found dry land it would instantly pop a wheely. Kinda wondered how the axles hung together.

The water. Less grip on the tires = less strain on the drivetrain.

Yeah, but when you go from puddle, to hard rock, to airborne, back to the ground makes you cringe.

I just can't wait to actually get a crawling brushless.

Wasn't there an article awhile back , that the author tried to run a BL set up in a motor and it turned out to be " Not Possible cause it was BL" ?

I believe the article was showing it in a bruiser .

SO my question, are you sure its all you have to do is reverse 2 of the wires ?

This is from the Mamba Max esc instructions: http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...er%20Guide.pdf

page 4 bottom right

"After the calibration process below, it may be necessary to swap two of the three motor wires to provide the correct rotation when forward throttle is given. There is no polarity on the three ESC-to-motor wires, so no worries about which one from the ESC goes to which one on the motor."

Apparently cause the way the stock tranny is in the bruiser and the position of the motor a BL motor wouldn't work. I wish I could find the magazine

you can run a brushless in place of any like sizes motor, but the bruisers used much larger motors than a 540, so maybe he couldn't figure out how to transplant it

Really makes no sence now

You can get MORE power out of a SMALLER outrunner compaired to your typical 540 can. Therefore it should be EASIER to fit in the same spot Switching the motors direction is as simple as unpluging the wires and swaping them.

My guess is it might have been one of the novak brushless systems. They are sensored and the earlier systems were not reversible. Luckily the new novak crawler system is.
