Red face Is my esc fried?

I tried to search this problem out but did not know what to look for. :-(

I have been working on my new scaler , and I always try my electronics outside the rig before installing them just to make sure I have them where I want them and they work .

I have a stock TQ-3 , a super rooster , 55 lathe and a tower pro servo (steering)

Now when I plug the servo , winch and ESC into the Rx ALL works ok.

BUT , as soon as I plug the motor to the ESC it starts spinning immeditly and I can not turn it down from the trims on my Tx.

So "Is my ESC fried" ?

Or what do I need to check ?

I would assume you've run through the setup procedure for the ESC?

if your rooster has a push button for setup on it, when you turn on your truck and the motor starts to spin out of control, press the button. Right after you press the button, pull the trigger in the forward position, then in the reverse position and then back to neutral. wait a few seconds and your rig should be ready to rock. each time you switch from motor and receiver set up you have to set them up to the new parts.

Like cloddyman said, if this is a different radio than what you were running it with before, it's gotta be reprogrammed, but it sounds like this was what you've been running all along and it just decided to freak out.

i would almost guranetee that i am right with this, i had the exact issue with my turck both times ive redone anythingin the setup, first the initial first power up, after the rooster had been pulled froma different car that was runnin, i plugged everything in and the truck up and boogied off across the garage. After i caught the truck, i pressed the little button and the wheels stopped spinning. I then did the program sequence, press forward, press reverse, return to neutral, then it was set. I then changed the radio two days ago, and with out even thinkin about it i plugged in the battery and turned it on only to watch it take off in reverse again. Lucky it was just a button push away to a quick fix. That button saves the day!!!!

well the first time wasnt to bad, it flipped itself climbing the garage door, but the second time i had to actually chase it down, and i was sitting when this happened so it got a bit of a head start, not to mention i hadnt even turned my radio on so it was going solo, lol.
