| Help - How do I power an Axial crawler?
Well, with an electric motor and speed control obviously. But this is what the real question is about: Mamba 25 and a Revolver 2 or Mamba Max and a Hyperion? The only thing I can promise is I *will* be using sub-C sized batteries, simply because it's what I have available, what I use in everything else, and I don't want to start buying/maintaining 2/3 A packs for rock crawlers. Silly? Maybe. But that's how it is. So pretend you're me, only you have more experience with rock crawlers than me, which set up do you use? Or do you use something completely different? I'd like to go brushless. Floor is open. |

i have both and find unless you run high voltages in the RR2 it will be underpowered for a comp rig. I replaced mine with the MM and hyperion set and am much happier with the performance. Now i run a 3 cell lipo and 13/86 gear ratios on a pede/tlt combo and I have mad power and plenty of wheel speed |

I would suggest the mamba and hyperion. Slobin pretty much hit the nail on the head, but the flexibility and brushed motor mode W/ drag brake puts the ESC heads and tails above any others right now.

Can you run 1500 mah 2/3A Epics with the Mamba Max/ Hyperion? Or is a sub C or LiPo needed?

Thanks guys, this is exactly the sort of answer I was looking for - good reasons from people with experience. Looks like as soon as the Hyperion is back instock at Holmes Hobbies, I'll be placing an order for one of those, and the MM.

Now to Hikack a thread. What would be a suitable motor that would go with a Quark 33amp Pro car. As this is what I have in my Mini Inferno, that is going to donate its ESC to the crawler project.

I also have two new motors in production that work well with the quark- much better than the hyperion motors do. About 3 weeks left for the first, and 6 weeks + left for the second.

| Quote: Yer I read those threads. I spent abit of time searching first. But couldn't really get a definitive answer. As I couldn't see any RR1's only RR2's. And they weren't recommended. So was abit lost. John, The motor your recommend is that the Hyperion z3013 ? or have I gotten lost in the department store again (geez that reminds me of when I was 6). | |

Yep, the z3013 would be the one for 2.2s, scalers, and clods right now.
