| Serious Electronic Issues...Need Help!!!
OK, let me start from the beginning I am running a TXT "Benderized" It had: 45T Lathe with RC4WD GRU Stick Pack Cells 3300 Novak Super Duty Two Hitec 945 Servos Spektrum DX3 Never had a problem Started seeing issue with steering after I changed to CVD's (What that has to do with it, I don't know) Added a regulator...No change Added a RX Pack...No Change Swapped servos for TP945...No Change I just added a Mamba Max...and now it is doing it again. What is it doing? Let me tell ya... If I am running straight...it runs great. If I turn the front, for the first couple times it works...then I lose left...eventually losing it completely. Rear steering is fine. If I am in a tight area, say in a comp, and both front and rear are locked...I lose everything. It will not kick in again until I lift the rig up and free the axles to go straight. I have tried RX Packs, Regulators, took my wideners off... I am lost on this one...and I have a comp on Sunday. The only thing I have not replaces is the Spektrum Reciever...Going to do that now. Any suggestions...Please. |

Its your spectrum rx cutting out on you.I read somewere and spectrum rxs shutting down. And the 945 might be pulling a big load of power. There kinda under powered for the big 40.s,I had the same intell I went with 9455's and then added a regulator.I had a mamba into .And switched back to the super rooster

I just changed the RX and it is working. It is still not 100%... I ran it longer than before without it locking up. What I am seeing now is that the servo will not self center. So if I turn the rear steering to the left and then zero...it will stay left until I drive for about 12". This is not good. I ran it with a RX pack and it did a little better but not good enough for Comp. Any suggestions. Do you think a regulator would do better than the RX Pack? I am open to suggestions. Thanks |

I had an issue running a rx pack and 1 JR DS8711 servo, truck would work for a little bit, and then freeze up when it got a little bound up. I swapped the rx pack out for a good regulator, and the problem is gone. I don't know if this is your problem, but just mentioning what I have encountered with rx packs. Quality cells in your rx pack makes a big difference as well.

I got an MPI from JRH...it didn't make a difference on the super...probably because the RX was bad. I put it on my 2.2 and it is working great. I am may need to take it off and put it on the Super for each comp. Not a big deal...I made it plug and play. I am waiting on the Castle Reg that is coming out... I will try it on Wednesday... I will let you know. |

I isolated the power between the RX and servos. That solved my problem that was exactly like yours. The regulator only controls servos, the BEC from the Mamba only controls the RX and itself. You didnt mention what voltage main pack you are running. |

The more power you run in your main pack, the lower your BEC current will be. Isolating the servo power is just that: Power from the regulator goes to servos ONLY. The BEC power controls the RX and esc. You will need to cut the black and red wires between the servos and RX, and make a jumper to splice the regulator power in. |

JRH, I am going to try the regulator like you said. I found a thread from Grizzly that spells it out for me. STEVESTOCK suggested I put shorter Servo Arms on...I upgraded to Dubro HD Arms and put the long one on. Well changed it to the middle one and man did that make a difference. Isn't it funny, the two things I did not touch made the most impact. I will wire the regulator tomorrow. Thanks John... |

Alright...it is definitely working better but not to my expectations. Now I am running TXT 7Cell sub C Matched Mamba Max Crawlmaster DX3 4WS with two Hitec 945mg's CVD's Proline Beadlocks with Moabs MPI 6V Voltage Reg Direct Wired I am still having issues with turning. Maybe I am expecting too much but I would think with this set up that I could turn no problem. I am still having issue getting this thing to turn. Don't get me wrong, it is turning but I would think the 945s would throw that tires left and right. Am I expecting too much? Do I need to rethink my servos? Should I go Digital? Do I need an adjustable regulator? I cannot believe that I am having so many issues with this. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks, John |

So is it acting up the way it was in the first post? Or is it just not as powerful as you had hoped it would be? It may just be the servos are only 180oz/in trying to turn large moabs. |

What is frustrating is I never had this problem before I changed to CVD's and 7 cells (or at least I didn't notice it) . It doesn't make sense. I will try to video it and post it up. EP, I am starting to think I am expecting too much, but I see other rigs that do what I am thinking they should do. John | |

You just said man! You went from 6 cells to 7 cells. BEC current dropped too.

OK...I am going balls to the wall. Hooking up a new 6 cell SC Pak of matched 4200's and adding a Hitec 5955TG to the front...333 oz Torque @ 6V. This will either work or snap the axles... Wish me luck... |
