Default Integy 55T surge?

So, I just bought an Integy 55T and put it in my WK (all other stock electronics) and every once in a while I get a power surge. Usually when I'm crawling really slow, it'll blip real fast then seem okay. The steering doesn't seem to be affected. Do I need to "break in" the motor (dunk in water and run for 1 minute)? Also, I didn't have a soldering iron, so I used crimp connectors. Should I solder the wires, maybe a loose connection?

Thanks for any help...

good connectors will help, and it never hurts to seat teh brushes. Did you install the 3 resistors on the end bell of the motor can?

They are capacitors, and they store a little bit of energy to help remove spikes in the current. Thus smoothing out the flow.

For years I ran my lathe motors without them. Now I use them. It's a good idea.
