There's no reason you couldn't use it. It's not very popular just because it's overkill for this application. If you need rear-steer, I'm not sure it would work all that well. I know the thumbwheel is used for dual-rate normally; not sure if you could switch it to operate the 3rd channel or not. Or is there an assignable second thumbwheel on those? I can't remember... I thought about using my M11 for my crawler, but in my experience, the radio kinda takes a beating. I'm always setting it down on the rocks, sometimes carelessly, and it falls or I trip and the radio gets knocked against the rocks. I'd rather not beat up my $300+ radio. But I suppose if you're not a careless klutz like me, that wouldn't matter

I had one...It will work but the risk of dropping in on the rocks made me go to a less expensive radio system. Glad I did it...

I used a Futaba 3pk or something of that nature until i switched to a stick radio for crawlers - which I did because I had a lot of glitching problems with the FM radio.

I like the Spektrum. No need to worry about frequencies. If you are running a comp rig 2 channel is fine unless you want to run dig. My suggestion is to go with a cheap TQ3 for now...then see what your needs present to you.

i've got a 3pk and love it. haven't sussed out independent rear wheel steer, but have used the channel mixer to set-up easy to activate switch combos for the following steering options: • front wheel only • front/rear crab • front rear mirror If you can justify the coin it's well worth it IMHO - especially if you run nitro trucks/buggies/cars/boats too

Run the 3PK, it will give you anything you need, there is a guy from the ORCRC that comes to our comps that runs it on his 2.2 with dig, he loves it. If you didn't already have it, I'd suggest something cheaper, but since you already have it, I'd use it. The 2.4FAST is a great bonus.

You have been more then helpful Tanis...sorry about my ranting last evening BTW. Alright, sounds like I am on the right track with my radio. Now for the dig to operate, does it need a full proportional 3rd channel?

When I talked to Skeeter from ORCRC a couple of comps ago, he said he could assign the 3rd channel to either a push button or the dial.

i use a 3pk with my 2.2 bmvii and I managed to win my first comp with it a few weekends ago. It is a little overkill, but I already have it and multiple receivers, plus if you feel comfortable thats all that matters.

I've got one as well. I use the throttle expo to smooth everything up and I play around with the steering return speed some. I had a 3PJS that I gave to the GF when she got a truck, good excuse to upgrade in my opinion
