| Removing low voltage shut-off circuit from LiPo
I have a small 3c lipo pack i got from Ebay. It has a small circuit board on that has a built in low-voltage cutoff. The circuit is non-functional, so I was trying to remove it. From the pack there are your two + & - wires, as well as too smaller black wires soldered to pads labeled VH & VL. My question is this: What needs to be done to those two wires to fully bypass the limiter circuit? Can i just unsolder them and insulate the ends, or do they need to be connected with something? |

Try it out. Make sure you take some video of your truck on fire.

You may not know it but there is a reason for the shut off thing. LIPOS like to EXPLODE...really EXPLODE like in KABOOM with fire and chit! No joke either. Better to leave it alone IMO. |

I have been told that it is easy to bypass the circut board, just be careful you do not short anything. As for lipo's exploding, in my experiance they are no more dangerous than any other battery. In fact I have seen sub-c Nimh cells do more damage. Nothing: |

You will have to take the pack apart fully, using proper solder for the types of tabs you find inside. Have any pics of it?

Does it make more sense to ditch a brand new battery because a $.50 circuit doesn't work, or try to find a way around the $.50 circuit? As far as exploding goes, a battery is a battery. Yeah there are certain precautions the LiPo's require, but they're not some magical time bomb constantly on the edge of destroying everything you own. IMO, all the LiPo paranoia is a bit foolish. They outperform standard RC battery packs in every regard (except price) to such an extent, that if fear is the only thing stopping you from using them, grow some balls... | |

The biggest danger is improper charging. Almost every video on youtube of the packs catching on fire are because they hooked it up to a car battery or wall outlet.
