Default Smaller crawler motor?

Okay! here is my problem and call me a fool or what but hear me out on this. I bought these Itegy gear reduction units for a super build and trying to mock up the suspension for it. These things are large, heavy and very cool looking and really adjustable for many pinion setups on the motor and to the axle gear set as well. Now that I have defended myself in advance the real problem is they put the motor into the path lower link. If I had a shorter motor (I measured my Integy 55 turn to be 55mm from mounting side to top of end bell) the link/motor wont have an interfearance issue.

Give me some ideas here. I really want to use these reduction units for there wide fine tunning and weight. They should put a good amount weight low and center. Maybe my only solution would be Brushless motors?

HELP

Brushless sounds like a good plan.

Pimp cane style would do the trick also.

Or a Pimp Cane.. Wow.. That was simple...

Also I have some new gears that are Alumn. Switching from those to these would lower you COG and give you better clearance for Motors.

Don't take this as a plug for Integy but they have made some really nice stuff lately. I already have the steel gear set with spool so another gear set aint in the budget. Brushless aint either right now so I think that it's going to be brushed for now with no gear reductions. Till I can come up with a better solution I'll have to plan a pinion reduction for this thing.
